Dawn light over Orford Castle

A view of Orford Castle taken in early spring light in April 2021. Orford Castle ​was built between 1165 and 1173 by Henry II of England to consolidate royal power in the region. The site is maintained by English Heritage.

Orford is a village with historic town status in Suffolk, it is surrounded by farmland and marshes and is within the Suffolk Coast and Heaths AONB. It is located 9 miles east of Woodbridge.
